But there are many stories that deal with experiences of mature people as well. She's a keen observer and has many original ideas. I look forward to reading more by her in the years to come. Try to get a copy of this collection - it can be a treasured possession. I am flattered that you could get a lot of significant insights to the story from it. As you have observed, it is never possible for a review to capture the true effect of a story, and in this case, it's a sophisticated and open ended story. This book is highly recommended - I'm sure that you will love all the stories in it. Wish we could resuscitate the Writers Forum and discuss such brilliant books... Now, the only way is to do it online! Yet my heart was racing as i read this.. what fascinated me the most was the way in which Ashworth has built up the menacing effect the story has upon it's readers.. by a careful layering.. right from the setting, the beach to the simple act of writing one's name on the sand.. which would inevitably be erased by the waves without leaving a trace of its existence, to the sleeping parents who are oblivious to their child's 'adventure', the guest who turns hostile, his story of the gulls, the cave, the helplessness of the dog.. I wonder how brilliant the rest of the stories would be.. looking forward to read it some day! :)Lissy Geohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13016230718188611424noreply@blogger.com
